The 16ft half cabin is essentially a revamped version of Haines Signature's 492F -- the company's biggest selling boat, both here and in New Zealand.
The 493F comes onboard with a revamped deck to bring it into line with the current Haines Signature look. The classic 492 variable deadrise hull is unchanged.
The vessel fits into the under 5m category with a centreline length of 4.87m. It has a generous maximum beam of 2.01m.
The changes to the deck include a reworked transom area to match the specifications seen on the Haines Signature 520, 540 and 550 series. Up front there is a much bigger hatch than its predecessor for better access to the anchor locker, and the anchor locker itself is approximately 50% bigger.
A new dash layout, a deeper safer cockpit and specially moulded bowsprit all grace the new-look craft, the company told Trailer Boat.
According to Greg Haines, the 493F has all the credentials for fishing, but is also well equipped for the family as a cruising vessel. The interior layout is designed to meet this dual purpose.
At the transom, the rear lounge can be removed to allow room for the factory baitboard, transforming the vessel into fishing mode. Other angling accessories include bait wells in the transom and an underfloor kill tank.
The 493's trademark variable deadrise hull ranges from 33° - 21° at the transom.
Overnighting is possible, with accommodation for two adults below deck.
The 493F has a recommended power rating of 70hp and a maximum power rating of 90hp.
Packages are priced from around $27,000, depending on the options chosen and powerplant fitted.
