Sea Tow Services Australia, with its head office in Drummoyne, NSW, has shut up shop. Responsible for the administration of the National Sea Tow membership program and the network of professional towers (franchisees), Sea Tow Services Australia Pty Ltd was a brand of Sea Tow International established in America in 1983.
Sea Tow’s online site says it is: "Dedicated to providing members with a variety of on-water services, including multiple area towing, fuel drops and jump starts, prop disentanglements and more. Sea Tow not only provides marine assistance but will go the extra mile to make your boating experience more enjoyable.
"Should our members be boating in unfamiliar waters and have a question about sand bars, shoaling or weather conditions, or just need a restaurant recommendation, a qualified team of Sea Tow professionals are standing by ready to assist," the website claims.
The corporate blurb of Sea Tow Services Australia goes on to say that "Sea Tow focuses entirely on the job at hand -- ensuring that there are trained personnel operating boats that meet our exacting standards, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year."
Anew company called Boat Assist 24 has emerged to take care of Sydney Harbour boaters (EDITED: July 23, 2013 following comment below). Sea Tow franchisers elsewhere were forced to close their doors. Sydney boaters see www.boatassist24.com.au.
