Sea Ray launches 240 Outboard

New Sundeck offers a choice of Verados

Sea Ray says that with quality craftsmanship, plenty of space and a premium propulsion system, the all-new Sea Ray 240 Sundeck Outboard will maximise any boater's enjoyment of a day on the water. Featuring a 200XL Mercury Verado four-stroke engine, the Sea Ray 240 Sundeck pairs a smooth, quiet ride with luxurious appointments.

"The release of the 240 Sundeck as an outboard model is part of Sea Ray's Next Wave initiative which is an intensive two-year commitment to enact major innovation across all Sea Ray platforms. Our goal is nothing short of reimagining the boating experience. With a deliberate focus on product, this initiative aims to elevate Sea Ray in the minds of consumers and set a new precedent for industry leadership," said Andy Graves, president of Brunswick Boat Group.

The 240 Sundeck Outboard provides boaters with an enclosed head compartment with a lockable door, a standard large cockpit floor plan for additional mobility, and increased seating capacity. Deep bow seating, a convertible port-side seat, an L-shaped port lounge and an aft staging seat keep everyone enjoying the outdoors in maximum comfort.

The SmartCraft instrumentation, featuring glass lenses, low-glare blue night lighting and chrome bezels, enables the captain to remain in full control of the 240 Sundeck Outboard at all times. An optional flush-mount Garmin GPS is also available.

In the cockpit, standard features such as a Sony stereo with waterproof speakers, a bucket seat with flip-up thigh pad, a carry-on cooler, beverage holders integral armrests, LED lighting and stainless steel grab handles provide comfort and enjoyment for all. Meanwhile, passengers benefit from a forward beach-boarding ladder with an integral hatch and a concealed stainless steel four-step ladder and a swim platform with a concealed stainless steel swim ladder.

Individual options include a battery charger, a head interior upgrade, water sports tower and a trailer to suit one's environment. Available in Arctic white, black, Sea Ray blue, burgundy, patina and red hull colors, the boat's sleek exterior is eye-catching, highly functional and customisable.

The key differentiator for this Sundeck is the outboard engine offering. The outboards deliver a powerful yet smooth and quiet ride. The outboard design provides the ability to trim the engines to maximise efficiency and improve shallow-water maneuvering. The ability to trim the engines from the water also reduces saltwater corrosion and could eliminate the need for a boat lift. The 240 Sundeck Outboard can be equipped with the standard four-cylinder 200XL Mercury Verado engine or upgraded to the six-cylinder 250XL or 300XL Mercury Verado.
