An optioned-up 249 Avenger from Sea Fox Boats has just been shipped to a keen Queensland boater. This is the first model in the South Carolina boatbuilder’s new 2014 side-console range, designed to provide comfort and space for friends and family, while retaining a well-appointed layout for offshore fishing.
The starting at price for a 249 Avenger with all standard options and powered by a 225hp outboard engine is $112,000, plus $8360 on trailer. The boat that was delivered this week is special, costing around $134,000 (without trailer) with a load of options.
The first 249 Avenger landed here has an engine upgrade to 300hp; Ultima hard top (with built-in LED lights, sound system, lockable rod storage, electronics box, rod holders (and climate control system), Palmetto package (Beach Sand coloured hull, matching hard-top and frame, electric toilet and extra cushions and table for bow seating area.
Suffice to say, the owner’s wife was said to be in love with the new boat after refusing to set foot on the old hardcore fishing machine. Amenities in the extended console, which runs right across to the starboard gunwale, include quarter berth, the toilet and sink, and there’s a freshwater deckwash and more aboard.
Sea Fox offers a range of bay-style skiffs boats, walkarounds, centre consoles, a dual console and now this clever new side console that bundles more seats and amenities while retaining bow to stern fishing access. For more from importers JSW Powersports, go to: http://www.seafoxboats.net.au.
