Sea-Doo Switch Cruise dips below $100K
Promotion shaves a chunk of money off Sea-Doo’s unique jet-powered tri-toon party boatJet ski brand Sea-Doo has stripped more than 10 percent from the price of its Sea-Doo Switch Cruise jet-powered pontoon boat as part of a special promotion running until the end of June.
The promotion drops the price of the 6.2-metre tri-toon boat, the 230hp supercharged Rotax jet drive that powers it, and a bespoke galvanised trailer to tow it around on to less than $100,000, well down from the $113,990 pricetag it wore at launch in Australia.
The Sea-Doo Switch Cruise is unique in Australia in that while it steers and drives like a jet ski, it is classed as a boat and therefore bypasses the Sydney Harbour jet ski restrictions.
"This highly versatile and affordable pontoon delivers the thrill of powerboat-like handling with the stability and onboard spaciousness of a pontoon," Sea-Doo said in a release announcing the promotion.
“With a spacious deck and jet propulsion driven tri-hull pontoon platform, Sea-Doo Switch delivers all the comfort and versatility needed for family and friends to fully enjoy on-water adventures together, as well as all the excitement and performance you’d expect from a Sea-Doo.”
Jet ski handling
The Sea-Doo Switch Cruise differs from other pontoon boats in that it uses a jet ski engine connected to a set of handlebars rather than an outboard engine and a steering wheel.
The hull’s design is also unique, featuring a larger central pontoon in the middle and two smaller outriggers outboard, helping the pontoon drive similar to a boat at speed but with all the stability of a pontoon boat at rest.
The Sea-Doo Switch Cruise is built with a modular deck that allows owners to add or remove seats, tables, storage or accessories by simply clicking them in or out of the floor.
Up to eight people can cruise around on the Switch Cruise, with a forward gate to load or unload people at a jetty, while the features include a 100-watt Bluetooth audio system and a large swim platform with a telescopic ladder.
The Sea-Doo Switch Cruise’s lightweight design means it can be towed behind a mid-size family car.
The offer is for a limited time only and until stock runs out.
The Last Wave Sales Event extends across a range of Sea-Doo products, with some jet skis receiving price cuts of up to $3500.
