Sea-Doo’s Spark Trixx is engineered for – as the naming convention suggests – simple stunts and pure entertainment, which is why it’s been such a popular model since Canadian recreational vehicle specialist BRP introduced it in 2016. In fact, after just a year on sale, the Trixx accounted for more than half of all Spark sales in Australia!
In 2026, the Trixx, part of Sea-Doo's 'Rec Lite' family, returns with only minor changes, but it certainly hasn’t lost its halo as one of the most fun and affordable jet skis on the market.
The hull is constructed from lightweight Polytec material, with a compact design that makes it easy to tow with most mid-size cars. The most notable change to the Trixx is cosmetic: a new gulfstream blue and orange colour scheme, which has given it a fresh look without altering the underlying platform.

Underneath the hull, the Rotax 900 ACE engine continues to deliver the goods. The naturally aspirated triple produces 90hp and can reach speeds of 80km/h in the right conditions – fast enough for serious fun.
But top speed isn’t what defines the Rotax: it’s all about mid-range power, fuel efficiency and responsiveness. However, a sport mode does sharpen the throttle response for more experienced riders seeking to push the envelope a bit more.
The Trixx’s rider controls and modes are focussed on delivering a more dynamic environment for pure entertainment. To that end, key features include:

The one-seater model (Spark Trixx for 1) starts from $13,699, and the three-seater (Speak Trixx for 3) is $14,699, both fitted a larger rear platform with LinQ attachment points. You can choose to add on a BRP audio system which is a portable design that integrates perfectly onto Spark models and floats on water for around $1500 more.
The Trixx excels as a play ski. The hull is super light yet and very responsive. I performed playful back and forth manoeuvres, as well as stand-up tricks, and was impressed with how easy it continued performing tricks in choppy conditions.
It feels light, and I was able to easily get the ski’s nose in the air with both feet on the back footrests. Even beginner thrill seekers would be able to successfully do basic tricks on this ski.
At a decent clip, though, it doesn’t cut through the waves as well as a larger ski, while there is limited storage in comparison to Sea-Doo’s other jet skis – but the Trixx’s design brief is not about family trips or for storage. It certainly rates highly on water as a spirited ski, which is what it’s all about.

The Sea-Doo Spark Trixx will continue to be loved by jet ski enthusiasts as it combines versatility, affordability, fun and performance into a compact bundle.
If all you need is something light, easy to tow and playful, the Spark Trixx hits the target.
Choosing between the two options comes down to the intended use and budget.
Regardless of your decision, both variants deliver an exhilarating riding experience on the water.
