Sea-Doo watercraft are trumpeting the news that they dominated the Victorian Jet Ski Boating Association (VJSBA) Top 5 Shootout, clean sweeping the top two classes of the time-trial event held at the National Watersports Centre in Melbourne on Sunday October 23.
Melbourne Sea-Doo and Can-Am unleashed their performance credentials, with team members finishing 1, 2 and 3 in the Open class ahead of factory-backed competition.
"To have clean swept the open class as a dealership, and for Sea-Doo PWC to have done the same in the Mod and 800 classes, is testament to not only the quality team of riders that we have assembled, but also the unmatched performance of Sea-Doo watercraft," said Sam Mosca of Melbourne Sea-Doo and Can-Am.
"The 300hp RXP-X is untouchable through corners, it’s T3 hull is a large part of our success this weekend," he added.
Sea-Doo said that its weekend open class results were even more impressive because the wins were achieved on stock, out-of-the-box hulls.
The Open Class features carbon fibre, custom race hulls, built by factory teams and raced by factory backed professional riders.
"We had a nightmare with our custom-built race Sea-Doo the night before the race, and despite our best efforts were unable to get it on the water," said Chris Withers.
"However, we were confident that the standard hulled RXP-X that we had as backups would do the job. Turns out we were right!"
In the 800 class for entry-level PWCs, the results mirrored the high-powered classes. Sea-Doo Spark models, known for their fun and affordability, proved their performance credentials. Sea-Doo Spark models clean swept the 800 class and, apparently, their riders had a ball doing it.
