At a media event in Queensland last Friday (November 30), Savage officially launched its new range of fibreglass cuddy cabin boats and updated its bowrider range.
Four new cabin boats were launched ranging in size from 4.85 metres to 6.55 metres.
The boats were designed in New Zealand and are being built in China. The boats are shipped from China to the Telwater factory in Queensland where the final fitout is done and the trailers are built.
According to Savage’s Jason Draeger, the new cabin boats are built as bluewater fishing or cruising rigs with a 19-degree deadrise and loads of standard equipment so that they are ‘ready to go’.
All cuddys are powered by Evinrude E-Tec engines and they carry a 10-year structural warranty.
The bowrider range was increased to include a 5.2-metre entry-level boat powered by a 135hp MerCruiser sterndrive engine while the existing 5.94-metre Savage 195B has had an engine upgrade to a 220hp MerCruiser.
Prices for the cuddy cabin boats start at $33,428 for the 485C while the 195B bowrider with 220hp sterndrive will set you back around $39,490 in standard form (no pricing was available for the smaller bowrider at the time of writing).
We will be bringing you full tests on both the cabin boats and bowrider soon.
