Savage Aluminium 545 Jabiru Pro Tracker

One of the company's most popular all-round fishing rigs, the Jabiru is designed for multi-positional fishing in both inshore and inland waters.

Launched in the mid-'90s, the 545 Jabiru is the largest of the go-anywhere fishing platforms specially designed for inland and estuary anglers but with sea-handling capabilities to take it out on the bays as well.

Part of the Tracker series comprising the 440 and 470 models, the range can be fitted out in either side or centre console layouts.

Designed for the growing demand of professional fishing charter operators wanting to carry up to four anglers, the 545 Jabiru Pro Tracker is fully fitted with all the bells and whistles to get you on the water almost immediately.

Featured is a side-mounted steering console, complete with non-feedback steering, stainless steel grabrail, screen and storage locker.

Measuring 5.45m, the hull extends a further 30-odd centimetres with the inclusion of the integrated pod at the transom. It has a 2.0m beam and weighs 425kg.

The aluminium hull is built with 2mm topsides and a 3mm bottom featuring a strongback, reinforced inner keel. According to JJ Savage's Ron Lyons, the 545 Jabiru is a soft-riding dry boat.

The variable deadrise hull is designed to handle a swell, at the same time providing stability at rest. This will appeal to dedicated flyfishermen, as will the open and uncluttered deck headed by a non-skid forward-casting platform.

Other features include wide sidedecks, built-in bait tank, side storage and rodholders with the option to set it up with additional rod racks.

The 545 Jabiru can comfortably accommodate the entire crew with two pedestal seats fitted and several seating alternatives including removable seat bases on the foredeck.

The helmsman is provided with a deluxe pedestal seat with a removable pedestal base.

Fitted with a long-shaft outboard it is rated to 115hp, however a 60hp outboard offers sufficient performance, JJ Savage says.
