The upcoming Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show from Thursday May 24 to Sunday May 27 builds on its reputation as a prestigious marine event with the announcement of a further extension of on-water space.
At the show's launch in February, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show general manager Barry Jenkins said the opening of A Pier at the Sanctuary Cove marina has allowed 75 additional on-water berths for display.
"This means the 2007 event will offer 3.7km of on-water displays plus a further 16,000sqm of pavilion and open-air exhibits," Jenkins said.
The reconfigured and extended marina space is expected to appeal to visitors who can step from the streamlined park ‘n' ride shuttle to on-water displays with linked floating walkways.
"It makes it easy for visitors to see the whole display, they can circuit back through the Marine Village streets and pavilions," Jenkins said.
GLOBAL MARINE
This year's show will see 370 exhibitors showcasing their products. There are exhibitors from Australia, New Zealand and India. Imported boats and marine goods span the globe with the latest from France, Italy, Germany, Japan, China, Poland, France, Finland, Sweden, USA, UK and Taiwan.
Mercury and Mariner outboards will be on display with the Generation II OptiMax engines sure to attract interest in the trailer boat segment. Visitors to the Mercury Marine stand will also be able to view the 250hp Pro XS OptiMax and there's a relaunch of the 2.5hp and 3.5hp four strokes. Other products likely to interest trailerboat owners include SeaCore, a revolutionary anti-corrosion product, plus a new line of marine diesel stern drives.
Bayliner's full range of 2007 models, including the new Special Edition series, are sure to generate interest among those looking for a trailerable sports boat.
WELL HEELED
For the luxury market the big names include Azimut, Ferretti, Princess, Sunseeker, Hargrave and Warwick. Power and sail catamaran brands include Schionning Design, Lightwave and Tallon Marine. "An outstanding element of this show is the wide array of marine products on display. The event is increasingly known as the place where the ‘marine business does business' with dealer conferences and key industry events clustered around the boat show dates," Jenkins said.
There is no public parking on site for the event. Instead streamlined transport options include park ‘n' ride, limousine, taxi drop-off, ferry or water taxi drop-off, and helicopter transfer.
Entry fees for this year's show remain at 2006 prices – adults $21, concession $18, children 5 to 14 years $7 and children under five years free. Season passes are also available. The show is open from 9am to 5pm daily.
