Sanctuary Cove's 20th Anniversary show

The 2008 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) has generated strong exhibitor interest with close to 200 display applications received within opening weeks of bookings

The prestigious Australian boat show celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2008 with confirmed dates of Thursday, May 22 to Sunday, May 25.

"We're delighted to receive so many exhibitor bookings more than seven months before the event," said SCIBS general manager, Barry Jenkins.

"We had a sensational 2007 event with a record 53,627 visitors and a record 456 exhibitors," he said.

The 20th anniversary show marks the culmination of years of international marketing of the Gold Coast-based event.

Last month the show was marketed at Yacht Korea and METS Amsterdam, and a further marketing trip is planned for the China International Boat Show in Shanghai in April, 2008.

SCIBS is a member of the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers, the Australian International Marine Export Group and Marine Queensland.

"To reach a global market of buyers and marine executives, we've combined the 2007 Yearbook and corporate DVD in one pack which can easily be distributed around the world," said Jenkins.

Survey participants confirmed sales at the 2007 show to 16 countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Russia, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Singapore, UAE, and Pacific nations.

"Results from surveys and confirmed sales from exhibitors indicate that sales directly at or as a result of the show exceeded $250 million," said Jenkins.
