SANCTUARY COVE BOAT SHOW: Whittley trailerboats to make a splash

Whittley set for strong Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show with a new outboard model and the latest sterndrive technology

Victorian trailerboat builder Whittley Marine and longstanding Queensland dealer, Northside Marine, will collectively showcase the largest display of new Whittley boats seen at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) since 2010.

Bill Hull, Sales Manager at Northside Marine, said this year's Whittley display will range all the way from the legally trailerable flagship CR 2800, featuring the new on-board management system Whittley Pulse, through to the smallest CW 1650 model, with many models and an exciting new release in between.

Whittley has been on display at nearly every Sanctuary Cove Boat Show since the show first opened its doors, and Northside and Whittley Marine have enjoyed a long partnership of over 40 years in SE Queensland.

"From BMT packages that start from $39,990 drive way right through to over $200,000, we have a boat and a price that will suit every family," Hull says, adding that factory rebates will make buying a new Whittley at the show even more attractive.

NEW WHITTLEY SL 20 OUTBOARD MODEL
Whittley will release its new Whittley SL 20 OB, the smallest Sea Legend with an outboard engine, at SCIBS this year. Packaged with a Yamaha F150 four-stroke and on a high-quality Mackay trailer, the SL 20 OB will sell for around $79,990.

Alan Whittley, Sales & Marketing Director at Whittley Marine, is of course a vocal promoter of trailerboats. Every Whittley boat is legally trailerable, without permit, he says in the face of increasing competition from wide-beam US-made trailerboats.

"Simply hook on and tow anywhere, anytime. Plus when you buy a Whittley, you are supporting local families and manufacturing jobs with your boat being built in Australia for our local conditions, especially the Gold Coast waters," Whittley enthuses.

WHITTLEY PULSE SYSTEM
The new Whittley Pulse System, which offers a complete integrated digital-switching package, will be demonstrated on the flagship CR2800 on show. Whittley's sterndrive-powered trailerable cruisers have long been popular in Queensland.

"In a cruiser-style boat, a sterndrive configuration enables a large rear swim platform where a BBQ can be mounted easily and, internally, a deluxe rear lounge," Whittley says.

"New technology is also helping the popularity of a sterndrive-powered cruiser, with the engines standard with full freshwater cooling and an all-alloy block.

"Fuel economy [comes] through industry leading direct fuel injection and variable valve timing that you simply can't achieve from an outboard powered craft.

"I encourage potential customers to look deeper into a sterndrive-powered package as the technology has come a long way and integrates into the boat seamlessly," Whittley adds.
