This midnight blue and white beauty is Summer Salt, a recently launched Salthouse 68 that will be based in Perth.
Summer Salt's Australian owner has customised her for long-haul cruising Western Australia's rugged coastline, to places like the Abrolhos Islands and beyond.
NZ's Salthouse Marine said this 68 is the second to be produced, and her fine entry bow and warped planning hull design coupled with MTU 8V 2000 engines and 8200lt of fuel give her a huge cruising range of more than 3000nm.
"With ample amounts of eutectic refrigeration (four separate units to be precise) and the full-sized double-door household refrigerator/freezer, constant trips to shore are not needed for perishable supplies. Other noticeable customisations are the shortened pulpit with the twin-anchor arrangement on the bow and the hydraulic sports-transom," said Salthouse Marine.
The builder added that Summer Salt has a modern carbon fibre inlaid helm dash bedecked with an array of highly specified electronics, including three Raymarine G series 15-inch screens, night-vision camera, and bow and sternthruster controls fronting twin leather Besenzoni electric helm chairs.
The large foredeck, continued Salthouse, houses a 5.2m Smuggler tender, which, when launched, reveals a large sunbed underneath.
Salthouse Marine said Summer Salt will spend its first month in NZ waters visiting some of the spectacular islands around the Hauraki Gulf and Bay of Islands, before heading to her home port of Perth.
