Sailfish Shelf Runner 6.3 gets hardtop

Hard top for hard-nut fishermen

Dedicated fishermen who like to head to sea under all weather conditions will welcome the release of the Sailfish Shelf Runner in hardtop configuration. The Sailfish Shelf Runner Hardtop is a 6.30m all-aluminium catamaran powered by dual Honda four-stroke outboards.

The Sailfish Shelf Runner was recently launched with instant market acceptance. This model acknowledged the void that existed in the marketplace for a six metre trailerable alloy cat. The first model of the Shelf Runner has sold exceptionally well, but there was significant market feedback which wanted a hardtop version.

"Customers welcomed the huge cockpit space and fishing stability of the Sailfish Shelf Runner", said Gavan Daly of Webbe Marine.

"But there were a significant number of fishermen, who we met at boat shows who liked the boat, but really wanted a hardtop over the helm position. With the launch of the Sailfish Shelf Runner Hardtop, their needs have now been met, with a stylish, practical design."

The hardtop version is one of the few boats available in this size category that offers such a practical feature. For protection from the weather or a searing sun, the hardtop is highly rated in many parts of Australia.

The Shelf Runner hull has been designed to withstand offshore conditions boasting a length overall of 6.34m and a beefy beam of 2.45m. Such is the volume of the boat you could almost fit two monohulls inside the Shelf Runner catamaran. This all results in a massive fishing space for plenty of anglers on board.

Other notable features include Garmin 750S GPS/ plotter/ depth sounder touch screen, Fusion stereo and VHF Radio. The Shelf Runner also includes bolster seats for the skipper and passenger, ample space for storage in bins, live bait tank with pump and drain, 10 rod holders, deck wash and custom aluminium trailer. And the impressive list goes on.

Dual engines offer peace of mind to offshore fishermen, along with superior performance. The Sailfish brand is renowned for building outstanding quality catamarans that are stable, with huge cockpit space and exceptional performance in rough water.

The Sailfish range comprises models from 6.2m to 12.0m across three distinct model ranges -- Platinum, Gamefisher and Weekender Series.

The Sailfish Shelf Runner Hardtop with all the goodies mentined above retails for $110,000.
