Sailfish Catamarans has launched and delivered its largest aluminium power cat, the imposing Sailfish 5000, for a customer who wanted a distinctive and unique powerboat.
The 50 foot (15.24 m) boat is fitted with Volvo's revolutionary IPS600 drives that feature forward-facing, twin counter-rotating propellers that work in clean, undisturbed water.
The staterooms feature double beds and the fully-equipped galley has every accessory you would find at home. The covered rear deck and the fly bridge, which features a large L-shaped seat, give ample room for entertaining.
Aft of the flybridge is a powered davit to lift aboard a substantial RIB tender.
The 5.5-litre Volvo engines deliver 418hp at the props and the IPS drives give unsurpassed manoeuvrability. A joystick control allows easy and precise docking.
"From every perspective this is an amazing new boat," Sailfish agent Gavan Daly of Webbe Marine says.
"The customer wanted a distinctive and unique powerboat and the Sailfish 5000 is a custom-built boat in every respect. The customer had done his research and specifically requested the Volvo ISP drives."
Daly says the efficiency of the IPS drive is very impressive as they deliver the same performance as 600hp shaft drives without the fuel costs of a bigger engine.
Sailfish Catamarans are regarded as the leaders in large aluminium powercats with their range of versatile game fishing and family-orientated models.
