With the increasing interest in US-built "downeast style" motor cruisers in Australia, the new and impressive Sabre 40 Sedan is sure to draw big crowds when it is unveiled at the Sydney International Boat Show.
Boat show visitors who order a Sabre 40 will get a couple of big bonuses -- an iPad 2 loaded with all the information pertaining to the vessel and a full suite of Garmin electronics valued at more than $15,000. The electronics package includes two GPSMAP 5215 large-screen chartplotters, a GMR 24HD radar and a VHF marine radio.
The classic style of the Sabre 40 Sedan is based on the traditional shape of the lobster boats of the Maine and New England regions -- but with luxuries no fisherman ever dreamed of.
Built with cutting-edge technology such as infusion hull construction and the ultra-modern technology of Zeus azipod drives, the Sabre 40 Sedan is an off-shore capable boat that combines high performance with a luxurious, hand-crafted interior.
Cherrywood is used extensively throughout the interior of the boat to give a warm glow and to set off the teak floorboards and elegant upholstery. Accommodation consists of a large owner’s stateroom in the bow and a double guest cabin. The large head has a separate shower cubicle.
The all-electric galley is located aft of the accommodations and before the saloon deck. It is just below the line of vision when underway but open to the saloon so the cook won't be left out of the action.
The space saved by using the Zeus drives in the engine room allows for the installation of a washing machine, water maker and the standard 9kW generator.
The Zeus drives are linked to the Skyhook positioning system which allows the boat to automatically and accurately hold its position on the water despite the best efforts of wind and tide to move it. The drives also give a quieter ride as all exhaust is directed out through the pods under water.
The Sabre 40 Sedan's enclosed saloon deck offers seating around a drop-down table, a built-in entertainment system and great all-round views through the large windows. The helm position has more than enough room for all the marine electronics modern boaters want.
The aft cockpit has room for relaxing or sunbaking and more than enough room for some serious fishing.
With a classic deep vee hull and flared bow, the Sabre is a safe and dry offshore boat that can cruise at speeds in excess of 30 knots -- making coastal passages easy.
Emarine Australia will be displaying the Sabre 40 Saloon at the Sydney show alongside the Back Cove 37 and the Back Cove 30.
