Sabre celebrates 40 years

Sabre Yachts is celebrating its 40th anniversary in style this year, with the Anniversary Rendezvous to take place in the United States this weekend (July 9 to 11) at Boothbay Harbour, Maine.

Boast builders since 1970, Sabre Yachts has produced more than 2500 hulls, both sail and motoryachts, and the company expects around 75 Sabre models and over 230 enthusiasts to attend the 2010 Anniversary Rendezvous.

Emarine Australia represents the Sabre brand in Australasia, and one very dedicated representative, Jed Elderkin, has made the journey from Sydney to the United States to take part in the 40th anniversary festivities.

"The dedication with which Sabre builds each and every vessel is evident in the passion of Sabre yacht owners the world over," Mr Elderkin said.

Highlighting the levels of loyalty Sabre Yacht owners develop, two very special vessels have made the voyage up the east coast of the USA, a sailing yacht from Bermuda and a motoryacht from Florida.

"Annual owner reunions have always allowed Sabre to keep in touch with existing and prospective clients' needs, which has enabled the company to continually refine each product.

"Although the core objective of this weekend is to celebrate a company milestone, I can guarantee Sabre's accomplished designers and master craftspeople will be subliminally gathering as much feedback as possible to ensure the marque remains abreast of the market," added Elderkin.

Some of the models currently available from Sabre Yachts include a trio of sailboats in sizes between 38 and 45 feet in length. It also builds half a dozen different motoryachts, which range from 36 feet 52 feet in length.

Sabre Yachts sells its range of sail and motor boats right across the globe via a network of "competent, professional dealers" that Sabre says were "chosen for their reputation, location and visibility within local markets and for the quality of their personal sales service."
