SA Boat Show this weekend

The 2014 Club Marine SA Boat and Fishing Show is shaping up to be the biggest event yet

Organisers say that because the Club Marine SA Boat and Fishing Show is presented with the Adelaide 4WD and Adventure Show, it gives visitors two shows for the price of one.

The Club Marine SA Boat and Fishing Show opens tomorrow (Friday October 24) and runs through until Sunday at the Adelaide Showground. Show times are 9.00am to 6.00pm on Friday and Saturday and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday. Tickets are $16 for adults, $13 concession and kids under 16 will be admitted free.

Show Director Ian Digby said the SA Boat and Fishing Show is an ideal event for anyone interested in being out on the water; and that visitors coming to the Show this year are sure to be impressed.

"This event offers so much to visitors, with everything to do with boating, fishing and outdoor leisure activities," Ian said.

"Those in the market for boats will be impressed by the range of new releases from Adelaide’s biggest and best dealers. Come and check out the latest in sports runabouts for wakeboarding and water skiing; kayaks, canoes and all the latest accessories and electronics.

"There’s always a huge selection of fishing tackle on display, and this is the place to grab a bargain!" Ian said.

Ian said the Show was so popular not just for the extensive range of product and service displays, but also as an exciting day out for the whole family. He said that the 2014 Show would be packed with entertainment, presentations, information and special guests.

"We are very excited to have Paul Worsteling from IFish as the Show’s ambassador this year," Ian said. "He will be presenting on stage across the weekend, so make sure you come down and have a chat."

"We will also welcome back adventurer Jason Andrews from TVs All 4 Adventure, who will be on the fishing stage sharing a story or two. Club marine chef Bart Beek will be presenting cooking demonstrations on the Club Marine stage; plus much more.”

“We are pleased to have the Department of Transport Marine Safety back on board this year as a show sponsor, and they will be offering boat license testing at the Show, as well as presenting info and demonstrations on subjects such as boat safety," Ian said.

Ian said that other new features of the Show this year included a more interactive experience for families and children.

"In 2014 we will introduce the Kid’s Casting Competition. Run by an angling club, the competition will allow children to have a go at casting a rod across the specially designed pool, and if they hit the target they can win prizes."

"The Kid’s Casting Competition is an exciting new way of getting kids involved and interested in fishing," he said.
