Rybovich 64 Sportsfisherman
The world’s biggest walkaround Sportsfisherman and how sweet she is...Adopting the philosophy “listen, think and create,” legendary game-boat builder Rybovich has just launched what may well be the world's biggest walkaround sportsfisher.
Built for a loyal Rybo owner now on his fifth boat, Lizzy Bee measures 64-feet overall, has a modest near-30 tonne loaded displacement and modern pod drives. The sweet styling is in keeping with the company's 1960's express boats.
With a pair of Volvo Penta IPS 1200s, using the 900hp D13 engine equipped with the IPS 3 pod drives, the Rybovich 64 Sportsfisherman was launched with a factory-claimed top speed of 38 knots and a 30-knot cruise.
But owner Larry Wilson said his fully loaded new boat topped out over 39 knots and cruised at 32 knots while burning close to 250 litres per hour and does 29 knots for 190 litres per hour.
“At low RPM she did over 3mpg at 9 knots so with 1200 gallons it can go 3600 miles, Europe here we come. The ride, handling and fishing mode is fantastic. The pod drives are incredible, far better than I expected. Most beautiful and best performing boat I have ever been on,” Wilson reportedly said.
The stunning Sportsfisherman has exceptional pod-driven manoeuvrability, a dedicated fishing cockpit, and bow-to-stern fishable decks to chase billfish and other big game.
Rybovich has used the cold-moulded construction method on all its boats since the 1960s, but the Palm Beach yard's game-boat history dates back to 1947 when Miss Chevy II was launched with world's first set of aluminium outriggers and a fighting chair that is still the print and pattern for today's chairs.
Almost 70 years on and you can certainly see that heritage in the sweet lines of Lizzy Bee. The tournament accommodation below decks is four-cabin with a full-beam owner's stateroom, four heads and a lower galley.
The previous Lizzy Bee was a 54 Sportsfisherman built in 2007 and later named Scout.
