It’s on again – the Rottnest Escorted Safety Convoy will be held over the weekend of November 15-16 and the cost is just $150 per boat.
For over 30 years, Rottnest Escorted Safety Convoys have provided boaties with an interactive experience unique to Western Australia – an organised overnight trip to beautiful Rottnest Island in which you can join in the fun of the Quiz Night, tours of the bays, learn safe approaches, benefit from the advice and guidance of experienced escorts, learn how to correctly use safety equipment, even knot tying and splicing.
So if you want to use your boat to visit Rottnest Island with your family and friends in safety, and really enjoy the benefits of the boating lifestyle – get onto the BIA website and fill out the registration form to join the famous Rottnest Escorted Safety Convoy.
To participate, your boat must be between five metres and 11 metres in length and be able to maintain a continuous speed of 15 knots.
Your boat must have a safe, seagoing hull with a reliable engine. Your boat must have full insurance cover and registered and have a current boat registration sticker
Your boat must carry a marine radio and a second sand anchor for back anchoring overnight, and you must have full regulation safety equipment.
Departure Points are from Fremantle, Hillarys and Woodman Point.

This February the dinner will be a barbecue (BYO Drinks) on the beach followed by a quiz. Bring along your drinks (no glass: aluminium cans or plastic cups only), chairs and picnic rugs and relax. Barbecue dinner tickets will be $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12 years of age.
The Quiz Night is always guaranteed to be fun, great prizes are donated by BIAWA Members and if you remember to hand in your marine quiz you have the opportunity to win the major prize.
