Riviera unveils new 6200 Sport Yacht

Twenty years after it launched the original 3600 Sport Yacht, Australian boat-builder Riviera has revealed its latest creation

Australian luxury boatbuilder Riviera has revealed its latest flagship for the Sport Yacht line, announcing the new 6200 Sport Yacht.

The model marks almost 20 years since Riviera launched the original 3600 Sport Yacht in 2005. That boat helped establish the brand’s single level Sport Yacht concept and eventually led to today’s Platinum Edition range.

Riviera Australia owner Rodney Longhurst said the 6200 reflects the company’s long held design philosophy of timeless styling, single level living, blue water performance and easy operation. He described the new model as a major step forward for the marque and the result of more than four decades of boatbuilding experience.

The 6200 Sport Yacht is based on Riviera’s latest generation hull and is designed to offer more interior volume and deck space than existing models of similar length. The company has packaged the boat with a range of premium features including a large alfresco entertaining deck, a forward sundeck with sunbeds and lounges, and a gourmet level galley that links to the main saloon through a single indoor outdoor living space.

Buyers can opt for either a three or four cabin layout, all with ensuite bathrooms. A full beam master suite is standard and includes a king size island bed, chaise lounge, dedicated storage and a private bathroom. There is also a utility room or crew cabin option that incorporates a laundry and can be accessed via the engine room.

Riviera has fitted the 6200 with joystick stations at the helm and on both sides of the aft deck, along with a curved glass windscreen and touchscreen navigation systems. An electro hydraulic swim platform lowers to create stepped access into the water and also works with the tender garage’s rollers and winch to launch and retrieve a 3.6 metre tender.

Other features include an aft deck galley with dual grill setup, refrigeration drawers, icemaker and wet bar, a fold away dining table in the saloon, and a forward companion lounge near the helm. The boat also carries integrated camera monitoring that feeds to the helm, offering views of the bow, aft deck, engine room and swim platform.

Optional equipment includes Volvo Assisted Docking, Humphree fins or Seakeeper stabilisation, Starlink internet and Riviera’s Sentinel telematics package.

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1200 engines rated at 900 hp each. Riviera claims the setup delivers strong power to weight performance and efficient fuel consumption. The engine room can be accessed from three entry points including a stern door, a watertight door via the utility room or crew cabin, and a hatch on the aft deck.

The 6200 Sport Yacht will be covered by Riviera’s two year express and seven year structural limited warranties, while the Volvo Penta package includes a five year limited warranty.
