Riviera signs off on largest-ever US delivery

Seven Riviera motor yachts head off to North America destined for show-stopping debuts and new owners

Riviera has shipped seven new boats to the US as part of its largest-ever single delivery run to North America.

The boats, five of which are destined for the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, are collectively valued at more than $20 million.

The fleet of new boats, which took two days to load in Brisbane, includes the new flagship Riviera 645 SUV that will make its US boat show circuit debut, a flagship Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht, a Riviera 50 Sports Motor Yacht, a Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition, two 5400 Sport Yachts, and a 445 SUV.

“Each motor yacht takes up to an hour-and-a-half to load, so we have allowed two days to undertake this record shipment,” Riviera production director Kyle Davison said.

“It’s a major logistical exercise that will require additional members from our team to complete.”

Direct delivery

In an unusual step, the ship transporting the seven Riviera motor yachts will bypass its usual delivery route to Savannah in the US state of Georgia and instead deliver the boats directly to Miami, the location of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

“This rarely happens in commercial shipping, but with seven motor yachts on board occupying the space of up to 560 containers, it’s a significant cargo and thus has received express delivery status to the US,” Davison said.

The Riviera 645 SUV had its world premiere at the 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, one of the few marine showcases in Australia to go ahead despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new coupe-styled flagship features a full-beam master stateroom, and the choice of either three or four staterooms with three bathrooms, as well as an optional lower lounge and crew cabin, utility room or extra accommodation.

The 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs from October 27-31.

Rivera has also recently announced it will build the Riviera 78 Motor Yacht, an all-new flagship that will stand as the largest model ever built at its Coomera-based manufacturing line that now employs more than 600 workers.

The luxury motor yacht maker has also recently doubled its non-structural components warranty to two years, and the structural limited warranty on the boats it builds to seven years.
