
The celebration, during a dinner at Helensvale State High School, Qld, attended by 17 of the graduates, marked another milestone in Riviera’s ground-breaking schools-based apprentice program, said the company. They will all now join Riviera’s team of about 1000 qualified tradespeople building the company’s award-winning boats.
Riviera said its school-based apprentice training program is the largest and most comprehensive in the Australian boat building industry and one of the leading school-based systems anywhere in the country. At any one time, the company trains about 160 young people in the program.
Among the graduates, Matthew Nelson received the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE Apprentice of the Year award.
