Riviera 67 Motor Sports Yacht

Riviera announces new range of Euro-style flybridge motoryachts for luxury long-range cruising

Riviera has revealed preliminary details of  what it calls "a pioneering 67ft yacht" that utilises a hull developed in conjunction with Dutch superyacht designer Frank Mulder.

"Today we present a window to the future of Riviera," said the world-class luxury marque’s chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst at the Riviera Festival of Boating and Gold Coast International Marine Expo on Australia’s Gold Coast.

"It is extremely exciting that we are charting a new course for Riviera that has for 35 years been a leader in design, luxury, technology and legendary blue-water sea-keeping performance," he added.

The 67 Motor Sports Yacht – scheduled for a 2016 release – is a refreshingly new design with claimed "high sports performance and spacious sports cockpit."

Riviera says the new 67 will appeal to experienced luxury motor yacht owners who desire to spend more time cruising aboard a supremely comfortable long-range Riviera.

The boat will be powered with twin 1550hp MAN engines spinning shafts and running off 7000 litres of fuel with an optional 1500 litre long-range tank.

ENORMOUS LIVING AREAS
The 67 will have a very versatile sports-styled cockpit with copious storage solutions and serious al-fresco living areas.

The 5.5-metre deep cockpit mezzanine, being the heart of the boat's entertaining space, will feature a spacious dining and entertaining area, with direct access to the dayhead, as well as great connectivity to the boat's central galley.

The new-generation yacht offers a flexible accommodation plan with three or four staterooms with full-beam master stateroom, as well as options for a gym, teenager’s retreat, crew quarters or a dedicated sporting equipment store.

The boat will have a pantograph side door, large hull windows, provision for a 3.8m Williams jet tender on the foredeck or a Middle East forward layout with lounges and tables, and custom owner options.

The new Riviera Motor Sport Yacht’s futuristic flybridge will be fully enclosed and can be accessed via an internal staircase. The forward helm is designed to be brimming with the latest in marine technology and innovation.

WORLD MARKETS
"We have developed this entirely new design after extensive consultation with our global family of owners who, in increasing numbers, are wanting to take their boating further afield with true long-range cruising," said Riviera CEO Wes Moxey.

"This unique and pragmatic design offers fantastic interior flexibility. We feel our owners will appreciate the wide array of options to own a yacht with a uniquely personal touch and we are extremely encouraged by the feedback to our private presentations yesterday."

At a press conference at the Riviera Festical, where the new Motor Sports Yacht was announced, Mr Moxey said: "To me the word 'motor yacht' means a lot of things. We did not want to follow the fleet. So we created more volume, features, sportiness, long range... we didn't want to sway too much, but we have a new look and sheerline."

MULDER HULL AND SHAFT DRIVE
Mr Moxey also said the 67 Sports Motor Yacht will be MAN-powered with 1550hp engines and shaftdrives and will feature a full stand-up engine room.

"Tank-testing of the new Mulder hull is underway. Meantime, the feedback we are receiving here at the Riviera Festival is extremely encouraging," he said. "We’ve presented the preliminary designs to several owners of our larger Riviera flybridge models … and they’ve given her great praise indeed."
