Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition racks up a ton

Hull No.100 of the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition hits the water

Riviera has hit another significant milestone as it continues to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary – ticking off hull number 100 for the Riviera 6000 Sports Motor Yacht Platinum Edition.

The Gold Coast-based luxury motor yacht maker announced this week it had completed build number 100 for the 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition, with the completed boat now readying for delivery to its Sydney-based owner.

The multimillion-dollar single-level entertainer is the largest of the three-model Sport Yacht Platinum Edition line-up, joining the smaller 4800 and 5400 models.

The range received a significant update in 2019 as part of Riviera’s program of constant improvement, with the 4800 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition receiving so many changes – including a longer hull – that it was relaunched as a Series II model.

Hull No.100’s new owner is taking the keys to his seventh new Riviera in 13 years.

“My first Riviera 5400 was Hull 007 and the second was Hull 077, so the opportunity to get Hull 100 of the 6000 was hard to resist,” the new owner said.

“Riviera has done a marvellous job with the 6000. She is beautiful and seamless, with a superior quality of workmanship, finishes, and technical equipment such as the CZone digital switching system. Riviera just keeps getting better and better.

“Riviera motor yachts have always appealed to me, and the quality, especially over the past few years, has stepped up to a completely new level.

“The 6000 was always the boat that we desired. She carries a beautiful volume internally and is the perfect size to handle by yourself or as a couple.”

Single-level living

The 6000’s new owner took up motor yachting after stepping up from a sailboat, and enjoys the single-level living that the big Rivera offers.

“The 6000 is our Sydney apartment,” he said. “We sometimes take short trips to Port Stephens, Port Hacking and Pittwater, but mostly we enjoy our weekends on the harbour. It’s a great spot.

“Next year, we may look at planning an extended trip up the coast to the Whitsundays for winter.

“I was a yachtie originally, so I personally like socialising with everyone aboard and you can do that perfectly on the sport yacht.”

The Riviera 6000 Sport yacht is powered with twin 10.8-litre Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950s delivering 725hp each.
