Riviera 43 Flybridge Convertible

The highly decorated Riviera luxury cruiser range has gone from strength to strength in the last decade, culminating in its successful expansion into over 20 export markets

The Queensland company's 43 Flybridge Convertible is designed as a sportsfisher first, but has the credentials and creature comforts to serve as an all-round bay cruiser.

Indeed, the 43-footer boasts a cockpit large enough to entertain a party of pals around the barbecue, or to accommodate the crew and a fighting chair for gamefishing expeditions.

Featuring a hardtop with clears, the flybridge helm also contributes to its dual role with full controls including engine power, steering, navigation and communication controls. Seating for two at the helm allows the pilot to stand or sit while underway and the forward lounge provides a comfortable outlook for guests.

For families who like to entertain, the compact mezzanine-level galley has a range of features for gourmets, such as a two-door fridge/freezer, glass cooktop, microwave, sink and storage space.

The saloon is fitted with an icemaker, cocktail bar, settee and entertainment unit with stereo television and video. Versions are available with or without lower helm stations.

Below deck, there are two layout options. There is a two-stateroom plan, with a double stateroom with private ensuite bathroom and a second stateroom with twin singles and a separate bathroom. The other option is a three-stateroom layout with one bathroom. Accommodation comes in the form of a double stateroom forward and two twin single staterooms. Both plans include practical storage areas including drawers and hanging spaces large enough to cater for shore-going formal wear.

The fibreglass hull features Riviera's distinctive flared bow design and sweeping sheerline.

Despite the fact that the factory produces nearly 300 vessels annually, Riviera says that much of the moulded fibreglass hull is still hand-laid, including the deck and flybridge.

Each cruiser in the range incorporates solid keel and chines and a stringer system of transverse and longitudinal fibreglass bearers. Also fitted is a collision bulkhead forward and watertight compartments throughout, Riviera says.

The 43 is fitted with twin 430hp Cummins C450 diesels as standard, however optional Cat and Volvo diesels are available up to 610hp.
