Rinker 192 Captiva

Rinker's 192 Captiva is one of the US boat builder's best-selling models, it says, due to its broad appeal to performance-orientated family boaters

The 5.83m x 2.44m bowrider features storage and seating for a family crew and has all the credentials for skiing or dayboating.

Performance-wise, the vessel comes standard with a 4.3lt, 190hp MerCruiser, pushing the 1175kg hull to a top speed of around 82kmh and planing at around 27kmh.

The standard V-bottom design of the fibreglass hull incorporates a 20° deadrise at the transom and a 15cm-wide delta pad that tapers to a sharp entry at the bow.

The design incorporates four lifting strakes -- the outer two running the full length of the hull and the two inner strakes stopping a few feet short from the end of the running surface of the bow.

The 192's interior is designed to accommodate a family and all its gear in convenient and large storage lockers. Other cockpit stowage includes gunwale trays and a glove box in the portside dash. The main stowage area is located under the cockpit bench seat, located aft.

The lounge accommodates three passengers and opens on hinges to reveal enough space for skis, wakeboards or towables.

Upfront, the bow provides seating for three people. Cushioned tops lift up to reveal further storage.

The high freeboard in the bow has been specifically designed to keep the kids comfortable and safe, so that mum and dad relaxed while the kids ride up front.

In the cockpit the co-pilot's seat swivels for observation duties and is adjustable fore and aft. The pilot is accommodated on a padded bucket seat with a tilt steering wheel to ease access to and from the seat.

It is connected to rack and pinion power steering.

At the dash are Teleflex gauges that are framed by glare-resistant displays. Located to starboard is the Quicksilver Series 3000 throttle featuring single-lever shift and throttle control, with tilt and trim.

Other features include an integrated swim platform with boarding ladder and grab handles and a transom-mounted tow point.

Other engine options include 5.0lt V-eight and 4.3 V-six EFI engines. The 192 Captiva comes standard with trailer and covers.
