Revolutionary 60ft Glider Super Sports
A new dimension in high speed on-water luxury using aerospace technologyGlider Yachts, a new British luxury yacht manufacturer, is delighted to introduce what it claims is the most revolutionary high performance sports boat available in the world today.
The 60ft Glider Super Sports 18 (SS18) is "set to bring a new dimension in high speed luxury to the market," Glider Yachts promises, "with unparalleled performance, comfort and handling, giving owners access to the most luxurious high performance sports yachts in the world."
The Glider SS18 has been six years in the making, with meticulous planning, design and world-class engineering, using best practice and expertise from Formula 1 and the aerospace industry, including a proprietary Stability Control System (SCS). The boats will be built in the UK by Burgess Marine, a globally renowned company for excellence in marine engineering.
POWER AND RANGE
Powered by four 260hp Rotax 4TEC engines, the Glider's incredible stability and power will deliver very high speeds in excess of 60mph safely without the discomfort associated with traditional sports boats, even in the choppiest of seas, claims its maker.
This way, the Glider might open up unprecedented cruising opportunities for owners making previous out of range destinations within easy reach: a trip from Monaco to Saint Tropez or Miami to the Bahamas will be less than an hour away. The shallow draft also allows access to even the most out of reach bays, anchoring close to the shore and even beach landings.
FIT AND FINISH
Hand-built by craftsmen, the SS18 offers a spacious cabin featuring beautiful leather sports seating with carbon fibre, brushed aluminium and elegant upholstery throughout.
THE DESIGNER'S LINE
Robert McCall, Chief Designer and Managing Director of Glider Yachts, commented: "We are delighted to be revealing details of the SS18 to the world. We have spent many years designing and developing her, so we’re thrilled that she is now a reality.
"We’ve been asked what’s so special about Gliders and anyone who has travelled at over 30mph in anything other than flat calm will know it’s an uncomfortable experience.
"Gliders’ unique hull form, propulsion and Stability Control System (SCS) actually tune to the sea conditions allowing passengers to ‘glide’ over the waves in unprecedented comfort at up to 70mph.

GLIDER BACKGROUND
London headquartered Glider Yachts has a clear mission to become the world’s leading supplier of high performance, luxury yachts and to deliver a more cost-effective and ultimately more comfortable, efficient and sustainable way of navigating our oceans.
The SS18 will be closely followed by the faster Hyper Sports (HS18), reaching speeds up to 100mph. A stunning range of luxury sports limousines and the GT and SX-E range of superyachts from 100-265ft are planned, for which the company is currently seeking additional external funding/investment to build.
Orders received before March 2015 will be delivered in November 2015.
