Revealed: The MCY 66 from Monte Carlo Yachts

Beneteau’s luxury motor yacht division releases the next boat in its growing portfolio

The Monte Carlo Yachts MCY 66 will join the recently revealed MCY 70 as the second of three new motor yachts that French boat-maker Beneteau has teased it will reveal this year.

The 20.1-metre MCY 66 is the “result of the long-lasting collaboration with the Nuvolari Lenard Design Studio,” Monte Carlo said in a release announcing the new boat.

“MCY Collection’s iconic structure and recogniable profile, enhanced through innovative elements and craftsmanship’s evolution, result in sleeker lines and an harmonious shape.

"The bulwarks’ wide breaches enable a significant increase in terms of internal volumes and exposure to light,” MCY said.

“This is particularly highlighted on the main deck where the saloon presents an open space in between the galley aft and the living area located forward.”

Best in class

Monte Carlo claims the 66’s flybridge is “the best in class on the market”, with lateral supports and chromed stainless pillars supporting the carbon-fibre T-top.

With a surface of 25.2 sqm, the MCY 66’s enlarged living spaces allow for a fully customisable lounge area,” the French motor yacht maker said.

“The layout can turn into the perfect lounge and dining area served by an open-air galley for a private and elegant dining experience on board.”

It said the MCY 66 has “incredible internal spaces” for a motor yacht of its size.

“The additional bow portholes give the yacht an extended external appearance and provide higher exposure to natural light throughout the VIP cabin,” MCY said.

“The enlarged ... iconic porthole enhances the intimate and relaxing feeling of the owner cabin. The guests’ cabins, with their dedicated bathrooms, follow the spacious volumes common to the other areas of this new model.”

High-end finishes

Throughout, the MCY 66 uses high-end fabrics, natural stone and Italian leather.

“Elegant glossy marble elements enriched by a light touch of copper are key defining features of the new MCY 66 interior design.

“The use of reflective materials, mirrors and lacquered wood, in combination with wide lateral windows enhance the brightness of natural light,” it said.

“In order to satisfy the owner’s needs and wishes, Monte Carlo Yachts offers complete customisation of all interior design and layout features.”

The MCY 66 will have its first public outing alongside the already released MCY 70 at the Venice Boat Show in June before both join the yet-to-be-revealed MYC 76 for its debut at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Show in September.
