Regulator Marine, the North Carolina sportfisher specialist with an Australian distributor, has just released a new 31 footer that it describes as a "deeply versatile centre console that redefines the 'Offshore Life'".
The new Regulator 31 is paired with twin 300hp Yamaha outboards for a top speed in excess of 53mph (46 knots) and a cruise range at 23.6 knots and 3500rpm using a sniff over 70lt/hr of 350nm-plus. This equates to 0.4m/lt or 1.6lt/km.
Clearly, the new Regulator 31 twin rig boasts a massive cockpit, plus there is a serious tackle centre and sub-floor fish box, along with all those other key fishing features needed for a day of serious sportfishing.
Taking a cue from the prized Regulator 41, the all-new 31 also features a starboard dive door, integrated forward seat backrests and other lifestyle amenities designed to maximise comfort offshore.
"We are continuously looking for ways to ensure that our full line meets the needs of our customers," said Regulator President Joan Maxwell. "As we started planning for the 2017 model year, we were focused on the sweet spot between the 28 and the 34, and we have achieved it with the 31!
"This boat is a hardcore fishing machine that gives you more space without sacrificing performance, plus, it has every amenity you need for a day on the water with family and friends."
Regulator says it has started taking orders for the all-new 31 amid its hardcore fishing fleet ranging from the Regulator 23 to the Regulator 41, The yard also builds custom patrol boats and, in the past, stand outs like the “Indestructible Queen Bee” — a 26-footer that survived a three-year 3500-mile unmanned trans-Atlantic journey.
The North Carolina boatbuilder has just released details of its complete 2017 Regulator Centre Console line-up that we reported on earlier. To date, three Regulator 23 footers have sold into Australia and One Brokerage is in discussions with interested parties for bigger boats.
