
Three divisions divided the fleet (IRC racing, spinnaker cruising, and cruising). A group of 44.7s dominated the IRC racing fleet, with Dean Harrigan’s Big Kahuna, Howard Piggott’s 34.7 and Gerry Hatton’s First 40.7 adding spice to the mix.
In a day of big shifts out of the east, Bill Ebsary’s Le Billett 44.7 came out on top after clearing out in the third and final race of the IRC day. David Boekemann on Bombolo took out the spinnaker division.
The non-spinnaker division was packed with boats ranging from 31 to 57ft. Martin Sheppard in his F31.7 Rex took the overall honours.
The French Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the final day’s sailing in conjunction with Peugeot.
Michael Paul in his Oceanis 473 made the most of the conditions to win the overall standings ahead of fellow 473 owner Robert Seagart.
The line honours battle came down to the wire, with Steve McManus and his brand new First 44.7 Big Kahoona snatching the title from Matt Percy in Alacrity.
