A significantly upgraded "a" Series of Raymarine multifunctional displays (MFDs) will be available in August. The new "a" Series gets expanded-screen sizes to seven-inch and the addition of Wi-Fi, plus new sonar options to their extensive list of capabilities.
The combination of CHIRP and Downvision sonar, first seen in Raymarine’s Dragonfly launched earlier this year, will now be available in "a" Series, too.
The "a" Series MFDs feature Raymarine’s LightHouse User Interface and offer advanced navigation, sonar, and network capabilities in a compact, full-featured touchscreen display.
Described as an angler’s dream to use, the new a78 (7”) and a68 (5.7”) are engineered for freshwater and coastal fishing, using CHIRP and Downvision sonar technology to deliver realistic, photo-like images of the underwater world, big and small fish and structures with absolute clarity.
Raymarine's mobile apps can be downloaded to smartphones and tablets which can then be used to access Wi-Fi-equipped "a" Series MFDs. This gives boaters full access and control of charts, sonar, radar and more -- and from anywhere onboard.
The "a" Series displays offer extensive add-on options, including Raymarine’s RCU-3 Bluetooth steering-wheel remote. Each model is equipped with a Raynet Ethernet port, making the "a" Series the perfect choice for a small-boat network or part of a larger Raymarine system, says Raymarine. The Raynet port also enables connection to Raymarine radar scanners.
Raymarine MFD owners can use any "a" Series display as a full-function remote station or as a multifunction graphical instrument display.
