Raymarine DockSense readies for global debut
Raymarine’s parking sensors for large boats sets sights on a 2020 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show revealThe first motor yacht equipped with Raymarine’s new DockSense automated docking system will have its debut at the 2020 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Raymarine’s parent company, marine electronics specialist FLIR Systems, said the Monte Carlo Yachts 76 Skyline will be the first motor yacht to feature the technology. The MCY 76 Skyline is also having its debut at the US show.
It also makes Monte Carlo Yachts the first shipyard globally to build Raymarine DockSense into its products, after a customer asked for it to be integrated.
FLIR said DockSense Alert would provide the MCY 76 Skylounge with the recreational marine industry's first intelligent object recognition and motion-sensing dock assistant, “empowering captains to maneuver tight quarters and dock with confidence”.
“... Raymarine worked closely with Monte Carlo Yachts’ designers to craft a five-camera DockSense Alert solution that provides the MCY 76 Skylounge captain with unprecedented situational awareness,” it said.
“Fully integrated to the MCY 76 Skylounge's Raymarine Axiom XL system, DockSense Alert enhances the captain's docking perspective and overall visibility around the vessel.
“At the same time, DockSense Alert provides smart audible and visible alerts to inform the captain when an object is close to the vessel, greatly simplifying the entire docking experience.”
The Monte Carlo Yachts 76 Skylounge is an all-new 23.06-metre three-level cruiser featuring a large flybridge featuring a forward enclosed saloon, and a large open cockpit aft.
The 2020 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs from October 28 to November 1.
