Raymarine’s Axiom multifunction displays are about to add support for Mercury’s VesselView engine performance-monitoring system.
The new functionality, which will be introduced via an upgrade to the latest Lighthouse Fremantle 3.14 software, meaning boat owners using SmartCraft-compatible Mercury inboard and outboard engines will be able to see details about how they are running.
The update will apply to Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL displays.
According to Raymarine, owners will be able to access “detailed information about Mercury SmartCraft compatible marine engines”.
“Simply select the Mercury VesselView app icon from the LightHouse home screen to access a comprehensive information centre for up to four gasoline or diesel Mercury engines.
“The LightHouse 3 Mercury VesselView app also provides intuitive engine stats and important engine alerts directly on any Axiom display on a Raymarine network,” it said.
Features of the VesselView system include:
Engine data can be viewed either as a full-screen display, or as a sidebar to the Axiom touchscreen’s chartplotter, radar and sonar apps.
The system can also push engine status alerts to the screen, flagging potential problems as soon as they happen.
Raymarine Axiom owners will need to install a SmartCraft Connect gateway to the boat’s NMEA 2000 network to support VesselView.
Raymarine has not yet announced a release date for the LightHouse 3.14 software upgrade that will add VesselView support. The current Axiom software release is version 3.13.103 Edgartown, released in January.
