Rating rises on QSM11

Maritimo is the first boat builder in the South Pacific to offer the QSM11-715, which is now standard for its 48 and 52ft cruisers.

According to CMD, the higher rating was achieved by refining performance components such as the piston bowl design. The addition of a deeper bowl and finely-tuned injector spray angle has resulted in reduced soot levels. A new camshaft has also been adopted to permit an increased injector flow rate without overloading the camshaft. A new generation of injectors matches these two new components.

CMD says it has beefed up the flywheel and oil pan to accommodate the higher engine speeds to ensure durability.

The QSM11 was released in 1999 with a maximum output of 635hp.
