Quintrex’s new bundles: What do you get?

We take a deep dive into what buyers get when they select one of Quintrex’s new bundles with their boat

Quintrex has shaken up the way it packages its boats to customers, announcing a number of bundles that make the job of fitting out a new boat with everything needed much easier.

The alloy boat brand has revealed a number of running changes to its Fishabout, Top Ender, Cruiseabout, Ocean Spirit and Hornet models aimed at greatly improving the ownership experience.

However, in a move aimed at people new to boating, it is also now offering the choice of Comfort Bundle, Fishing Bundle or a Captain’s Bundle once buyers settle on what boat they want.

The aim of the bundles is to fit out a boat so that it suits its new owner’s needs the instant it hits the water.

It’s also a cheaper alternative for buyers than going for the Pro version of the boat, which pretty much leaves nothing off the options list.

The Comfort Bundle is exactly what it says; a more premium fit-out that is more suited to using the boat as a floating family platform.

It includes more comfortable sports seats up the front and premium transom seating down the back. The package also includes a bimini – a folding overhead shade cloth for those new to the boating game.

For anyone who wants to use their boat primarily for fishing, the Fishing Bundle ensures the boat is ready for the catch of the day.

The fishing-focussed bundle includes a berley bucket that attaches to one of the Maxi-brackets fitted to the transom duckboard – the other one will have the ladder mounted – a VHF radio, a transom cutting board that can swap out for a stainless steel two hook for water skiing or dragging around a water toy, and LED lights with switches mounted in the cockpit.

The third bundle available – which is aimed at anyone buying a boat smaller than 5.0 metres long – is the Captain’s Bundle.

This package includes hydraulic steering that replaces the mechanical cable system fitted as standard, and a sports steering wheel.

Why go the hydraulic steering? The experience behind the wheel is so much better with hydraulic steering more fluid and easier to use, particularly under load, than the cable system.

If you’re doing a lot of water sports and frequently back-tracking to pick the kids up out of the water, opting for the more fluid and direct hydraulic system should make the driving experience much less stressful.

No package pricing was announced.
