Something new is coming to Quintrex. The iconic Australian brand – which this year celebrates its 75th anniversary – has teased a big change is about to sweep through the alloy boat brand’s range.
Quintrex is remaining tight-lipped for the moment on exactly what is the big news, but the image teases the bow of a Quintrex Fishabout Pro, a model that received its last significant update less than a couple of years ago.

The changes appear timed to arrive in the lead-up to the 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which along with being a familiar platform for launching new motor yachts to Australia and the world, has significantly expanded its ability to show the best, brightest and newest trailer boats.
How significant are they likely to be? Quintrex has a history of listening to its customers and then taking their feedback to build the boats that they want to own.
How far it goes can range from heavily modifying the hulls that sit underneath the boats – this is what Quintrex did with the Fishabout Pro range when it heavily revised the range’s transoms – or rolling out entirely new models – the Yellowfin Plate rear console added to Quintrex’s more hardcore cousin is a prime example of this.
A Quintrex spokesperson declined to say when the Gold Coast boat-maker was likely to reveal its changes.

The 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which runs from May 20-23, is likely to include several new Australian-made trailer boat reveals.
Debuts confirmed so far include an all-new Makocraft 520 X Offshore fibreglass fishing boat, and significant changes to Whittley’s range of fibreglass fishing and cruising models.
