Australia most-popular boat brand Quintrex has upped the ante and increased its firepower in the highly competitive trailer market. Production has stepped up to as many as 20 trailers a day and there are some trick new models.
The two new trailer releases are the TA 1098 and the TA 749 in the alloy series. These trailer are for boats in the popular 4.2 to 4.5m range and these new trailers do look trick.
As the model number suggests, the 1098 can carry a boat to 1098kg and, as such, is equipped with heavy-duty springs, axle and mechanical override brakes with a ‘handbrake’ near the drawer bar. The 749 (with a 749kg) capacity hasn’t brakes.
The trailers feature full 5mm heavy-duty aluminium I-beam construction, which is factory rolled in-house, with low cross members to reduce the centre of gravity and improve the towability of your matching boat.
There are hard polyethylene keel rollers on the cross members designed to reduce wear and tear on the boat and the trailer, plus self-centring flipper guides to provide drive-on capability and guide your boat back to those centre rollers.
The lights are submersible LED models and fully sealed, while 13in sports alloy wheels with ‘greasable’ Bearing Buddies and GRP mudguards add to the standard inclusions on these smart new Quintrex trailers.
The forward section on the new trailers includes a 5:1 winch with webbing strap and swing-up jockey wheel. A spare wheel carrier is an option worth considering.
A designated walkway in the middle of the trailer frame is another option and handy for those not confident with driving their boats on the trailer.
Choose the optional swing-away drawbar and you will save about 500mm of storage space if that’s an issue in your garage.
Built on the Gold Coast and backed by a national dealer network, the new Quintrex trailers are designed to make boating easier and they look good, too. More from your
