Quintrex 455 Escape

Combining the revolutionary Millennium hull with the recently developed Maxi transom, the Quintrex 455 Escape is designed to meet the needs of people looking for that economical all-purpose boat

When introduced, the Millennium hull developed through Quintrex's unique ability to stretch form aluminium sheets into compounded shapes, commencing with a flared bow and a variable deadrise bottom was described as a 'quantum leap' in aluminium vee hull performance. The new Maxi transom plays a major role in significantly enhancing its performance, extending the hull through to the trailing edge of the boarding platforms to greatly increase buoyancy aft, the company says.

Quintrex says it was immediately recognised for its ability to offset the weight of four-stroke engines as well as contributing to overall stability.

"The new transom/hull combination is most apparent in the smaller runabouts, where minor weight shifts have a dramatic effect on hull trim and performance," it says.

With all-purpose boating in mind, the spacious interior of the 455 Escape comfortably carries four people with luggage and fishing gear, offering good access to storage areas and holding trays. The dashboard has been designed with smoothed curved edges providing an instrument display panel with excellent gauge visibility. Quintrex pre-rig gauges include a compass and fuel gauge, and there is still ample room for a depth sounder, GPS and marine radio which can be factory fitted.

The fully carpeted floor offers a refined finish and safety when moving around the boat. Underfloor storage has been maximised with compartments at each end of the boat. Additional interior fittings include a lockable glove box, drink holders, rodholders, two Quintrex folding swivel seats and one reversible rear benchseat. It's design also includes an underfloor 65lt fueltank.

Quintrex says the Escape has been designed as a versatile, practical all-rounder using the latest technology to obtain excellent performance and handling, at an equally practical price. A standard trailer and 40hp Yamaha four-stroke package is priced at $18,500 (excluding freight).

"The 455 Escape performs surprisingly well in rough weather conditions and exceptionally well in others," Quintrex says.

"This is the ideal boat for people who wish to escape and have the thrill of a well handling boat and it is sure to surprise and please any boating enthusiast."
