Qld Interclub Bay Cruise

A fun-filled week of boating for all the family

Looking for a fun way to spend a week on the water with fellow boating enthusiasts? Get on-board with the Interclub Bay Cruise from September 19 to 26.

In 1976, the late John Hattrick, while commodore of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, initiated an annual bay cruise to promote safe family boating and goodwill amongst the boating fraternity. Four decades on, the Interclub Bay Cruise Association continues this tradition with a cruise held in the first week of the September school holidays. The event is affordable, fun and a fantastic opportunity to discover the waterways with fellow boaties.

The cruise is co-ordinated by a not-for-profit association comprised of delegates from eight yacht and boat clubs of Southeast Queensland.

Participating clubs include:
Brisbane Outboard Aquatic & Touring Club
Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron
Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club
Wynnum Manly Yacht Club
Moreton Bay Boat Club
Gold Coast Boat Club
Southport Yacht Club
Little Ship Club

You don’t need to be a member of these clubs to attend the cruise and it’s a great way to get an introduction to the facilities and services that the affiliated clubs provide to their members.

Celebrating its 40th cruise in 2015, the Interclub Bay Cruise is the largest and longest-running single event on Moreton Bay with more than eighty vessels regularly taking part in the week long cruise of the Bay and the Broadwater.

Boats of all sizes, all vintages and all persuasions will take part this year. The itinerary includes destinations as far north as Manly and as far down south to Southport Yacht Club with activities and events held at each anchorage along the way. Power and sail are combined for what is a truly unique and special event with fellowship and safe boating being a key ingredient in all activities.

The 2015 Interclub Bay Cruise will take place from September 19-26 and promises to be a sensational week of fun, sun and friendship. For more details  visit http://www.interclubbaycruise.org.au or email vice@interclubbaycruise.org.au.
