Princess Yachts inspires new Bentley Continental GT Convertible

Even before you down the first G&T, the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible carves a spiffing image parked before the British-built Princess Yachts from which it draws inspiration.
To create this Continental GT V8 Convertible Galene Edition, Bentley’s in-house custom styling house, Mulliner, consulted the specialist designers at British-based Princess Yachts.
The meeting of minds has resulted in the ultimate GT Continental, a unique set of wheels that’s said to combine the best elements of an oceanic lifestyle with luxury convertible motoring. You won’t find a swim ladder, but you will find a wind-in-your hair drive. The rest is suggestive.
The Galene Edition is named after the Greek goddess of calm seas. Think gently heaving bosom, faint zephyr redolent of salt air caressing the coconut-oiled olive epidermis... slap!... no think car.
Dressed in brilliant Glacier White duco — and gelcoat in the case of the Princess — with Sequin Blue accents, the ultimate Continental GT Convertible looks like a white boat floating on the water... if you tilt your head far enough.
Like your matching suit, linen features in the seats, door panels, dashboard, centre console and armrests, while on-trend walnut timber trim is used in the centre stack and console, as well as the boot liner.
If that’s not enough, the car can be ordered with a Jaume Vilardell handpainted illustration of a superyacht adorning the front fascia panel.
Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 powerplant, the Continental GT Convertible has a four-layered retractable hood to create an unruffled environment in a Force 10. Or leave it down for the real boating experience.
But be quick, only 30 of the Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene Edition cars will be built worldwide.
If you prefer fishing boats to superyachts, no worries, the Bentayga SUV "Master Tackle Station" edition has a fly vice and boot dehumidifier. Smoked trout, anyone?
