Princess Yachts has taken the wraps off the all-new X90, a luxurious new addition to its X Class range that promises to raise the bar for space, comfort and innovation.
Revealed at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the new Princess X90 will sit between the existing X80 and X95 Vista models in the company’s growing ‘super flybridge’ range.
The X90 continues the X Class design approach, with a focus on maximising onboard space and comfort through features such as extended deck areas, customisable layouts and large living zones.
One of the most noticeable design changes is the addition of drop-down balconies on port and starboard cockpit bulwarks. These are a first for Princess and are aimed at enhancing usable space and the connection to the water.
Tony Jones, Princess Australia Sales Executive, said the X90 offers a new take on this segment of the market.
“The unique curved patio door to the aft main deck dining area gives greater adaptability and flow between the aft deck and the saloon for entertaining, and the spacious main deck owner’s suite features an optional gullwing door, providing direct access through to the owner’s foredeck terrace.
“Princess is renowned for its open bridge sports boats, and the brand excels in this category. But moving into the larger ‘super flybridge’ models, the X80 and above, with climate-controlled skylounge and the options for customisation, that’s where Princess really shines.
“When Australians see the X90 in comparison with competitors, they will be utterly amazed at the space, refinement and abundance of features,” Jones added, suggesting more models, including the X105 and X110, are being developed.
Greg Haines, Managing Director of Princess Australia, visited the UK factory earlier this year to view a full-size mock-up of the vessel.
“It has all the attributes you’d expect on a superyacht,” he said. “The fold-down balconies on the aft deck add valuable space to this social area. The glass transom and open plan cockpit further add to the sensation of being close to the water.”
Inside, the main deck follows a single-level layout from bow to stern and includes a large saloon, galley and master stateroom. The galley can be specified as either open to the saloon or enclosed, depending on the owner’s preference, and includes access to the port deck and forward crew accommodation.
The main deck master stateroom boasts 180-degree glazing for breathtaking views and features an optional gullwing door for private access to the ‘Owner’s Foredeck Terrace’ – a secluded space for morning coffee or dinner for two.
The flybridge continues the X Class layout with a fully enclosed skylounge, optional 85-inch TV, and access to the enclosed wheelhouse. Aft of this area, owners can choose between different layouts for the deck such as adding a spa bath, bar or crane or leaving the space clear for loose furniture.
Forward of the flybridge, a foredeck lounge includes a coffee table and adjustable seating that can convert into sunbeds.
Below deck, the standard layout includes three ensuite guest cabins with ensuite and the option to specify two cabins in lieu of the full-beam stateroom, creating a five-cabin yacht.
Forward crew accommodation includes up to three crew cabins, a shared bathroom, and a compact mess area with galley.
The first X90 is expected to arrive in early 2026.
