Princess launches new V85-S

British boatbuilder unleashes new 85-footer

Princess Yachts International revealed its new V85-S sports yacht at January's Boot Dusseldorf International Boat Show. The British boatbuilder was also displaying the P42, V42, V62, P62 and V78, the latter enjoying a Dusseldorf debut.

But all eyes were on the new Princess V85-S (measuring 85ft overall), a chic conveyance that takes the Princess V-class sportsyacht to the next level of quality and performance. There are redesigned main deck layout, enhanced materials' specification, and a new more powerful engine option.

Special weight-saving techniques have been employed in the state-of-the-art construction, while the new and distinctive low-profile lines suggest speed. But the accommodation and decks remain loaded, with a discreet upper sundeck with sunbathing and relaxation area as standard, and a four-cabin layout with full-beam stateroom, plus separate aft crew quarters, below.

The restyled and enlarged side windows, open-plan saloon layout, massive entertaining spaces, and more spacious accommodation all boost the V85's appeal.

Yet the new 2600hp MTU V-16 engines options top the list. The powerful high-speed diesels are said to push the V85-S to 40kts. A Princess in full flight!
