The dual Lamborghini-powered catamaran 'Maritimo', with Tom Barry-Cotter and Ross Willaton at the controls, has been confirmed as the Australian Offshore Superboat Champion after the penultimate round at Townsville last weekend. Barry-Cotter and Willaton had to 'nurse' the big cat home after a fuel pump failure, but fortunately for them the emergency system came on line and enabled them to complete the race. More here.

Caves Beach Surf Life Saving took the NSW IRB Overall Championship for the seventh successive season. Some 25 clubs contested the 16-event program at Towradgi in Wollongong, with teams coming from Kiama in the south to South West Rocks in the north. Details here.

Recently, at the National Barramundi Fishing Competition on the Daly River, Navico Australia's Dave Silva together with Col Cordingley and Gaye Silva won Champion Mixed Team and third overall from a field of 60 competitors. On top of that, Dave took out champion angler. More details here.
