The Offshore Superboat Championships resume with the sixth round of the titles set for Townsville over the weekend of July 4 and 5. Race director Russell Embleton expects a full field in all classes, with only the Melbourne entrant 'Impact Steel' looking unlikely. More here.

Jorn Tandberg will line up with a third different driver in as many races when he starts the defence of his European title at the BMW Norwegian Grand Prix in Arendal, 17-19 July. More details here.

People are being sought to join a Recreational Fishing Grants Working Group which will advise the Victorian Government on how fishing licence fees should be allocated to projects that improve recreational fishing. More here.

The closed season for Australian bass is in place throughout Queensland from 1 June to 31 August 2009, but the Stocked Impoundment Permit scheme gives fishers the choice of 22 dams and waterways to continue fishing for bass during this time. More info from this link.

Melbourne Boat Show patrons can win a new Whittley Inflatable RIB package as part of $7,500 worth of great marine prizes over the five days of the Show. Daily prize draws will culminate with the Whittley-Yamaha draw on the final day, Monday 6 July, when all the entries will be put in the RIB for the draw. More here.
