POWERBOATS & FISHING

People applying for a power boat licence in New South Wales will have to show they have practical 'on-water' boating experience under new licence regulations which have come into force. From Monday June 1, 2009, anyone wanting a licence will have to complete a Boating Licence Practical Logbook or attend a registered training provider course. Click here for more information.

NSW Maritime's latest patrol boat is a Stabicraft 589 SC hull, powered by a single Yamaha F150 four stroke outboard. Stationed at Mildura on the Murray River, the boat will patrol the river from Mildura to Albury. More details.

Riviera reported sales across all three lines of Flybridge, Sport Yacht and Offshore Express at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. The world release of the new Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht was a major success for the company, accounting for nearly half of all sales. Click this link for more details.

Maritimo Marketing Director Luke Durman said that the Gold Coast manufacturer Maritimo had a successful Sanctuary Cove Boat Show despite the weather keeping numbers low: "We had an extremely positive show given the economic climate we’re in and the weather that was dished out," he said.
