Gold Coast Water Police will be conducting Operation Papa Cascavel over the September school holidays (16-30/9/2017) and will be targeting anti-social behaviour on the waterways.
Brisbane Water Police, Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrol and POLAIR will joining forces to ensure waterways are kept safe over this period.
The collective police presence in South East Queensland will be visible and pro-active. But there have been similar warnings in NSW, where Water Police recently launched a squad of high-powered Sea-Doos to catch hoons on places like the Georges River and Botany Bay.
Boaters, fishers, riders and sailors need to play by the rules and be mindful that the beautiful waterways are for everyone to share in peace and harmony.
