On its release, it was awarded the ‘New Race Boat of the Year USA 2005' by Sailing World Magazine.
Since then, the RP36 has undergone a redesign by internationally renowned Reichel-Pugh Yacht Design giving the boat a series of features normally found in much bigger boats.

An open transom brings the lines of the boat up to date, creating more room in the cockpit – crucial when racing, said PYS.

Wheel steering has also been added, while a redesigned keel and rudder will make the Seaquest RP36 faster, more responsive and even more stable than its predecessor, said PYS, with these modifications

enhancing an already very competitive IRC handicap.
