Pittwater Festival for 2014
Six days of serious on-water fun, racing, classic yachts, SUP expo and moreThe Royal Motor Yacht Club (RMYC) will be hosting the 2014 Pittwater Festival throughout the month of March, with a number of aquatic events including Surf Boat Sprint Racing, Stand Up Paddle Board Expo and Scotland Island Race, the annual Game Fishing Tournament, a Classic Yacht Regatta, and finally a Power Boat Navigational time trial.
The festival will provide an ideal opportunity for members and guests to join in the celebration of Pittwater and also importantly to showcase and promote boating, sailing and on-water fun to the broader local community.
"We are very excited to be able to host the Riley Riviera Pittwater Festival for 2014. The original format for this event stems back as far as 1888, when the first Pittwater Regatta was held. Over subsequent years, this regatta grew into a number of events apart from sailing and also included Speed Boat racing, Rowing Races, and of all things an Aerial Derby which saw aircraft race from Kingsford Smith Airport, via Manly, Palm Beach then finish off RMYC," explains Rob Brown, RMYC Development Manager and Event Organiser.
"That was in 1948. These events brought the local community together to enjoy the magnificent waterway and surrounds of Pittwater. In line with this original concept, we are proud to re-establish this event in the form of the Riley Riviera Pittwater Festival," Brown adds.
We have great support from Pittwater Council, Surf Life Saving Association - Sydney Northern Branch and also the various organisations associated with each of the events.
"This festival will be one of the major calendar events for Sydney’s boating community. Riley Riviera are so proud to be a part of this event. We look forward to seeing the whole community coming together to experience the best that Pittwater has to offer," CEO Mark Riley from event sponsors Riley Riviera said.

Saturday 1 March 2014 - Surf Boat Shootout
Sunday 9 March 2014 - Stand Up Paddle Expo & Scotland Island Race
Saturday 15 / Sunday 16 March 2014 - Game Fishing Tournament
Saturday 22 / Sunday 23 March 2014 - Classic Yacht Regatta
Saturday 29 March 2014 - Blue Water Navigational Trial
Sunday 30 March 2014 - Pittwater Paper Chase
