Rigid inflatable boat specialist Sacs Technorib has given a first look at its new Pirelli X400/44 R17 Jet Tender, the first of a new line of garage-friendly models designed to be more than just ship-to-shore transport.
The new models – Sacs Technorib has also introduced a slightly smaller X350 – will sell alongside the J line of more conventionally styled Pirelli-branded jet tenders. However, while the J range is designed to be compact, the new X line appears to have a distinct luxury focus with design spearheaded by car and motor yacht designer Christian Grande.
“The Pirelli X350 and X400 elevate the concept of a tender, which becomes even more versatile,” Pirelli said in a statement introducing the new X range.

“The design is characterized by soft and welcoming shapes, with a wide bow and configurable backrests for the seats.
“The layout favours space and habitability, and the variety of accessories and customisations makes the X line adaptable to the needs of every customer and every size of yacht garage, allowing flexible use of the craft.”
The design is long and low, and features plenty of comfortable seating in the bow, in front of the low-set console, and rear-facing behind the helm. In a distinct nod to the model’s name, the Pirelli X400 Jet tender includes a strip of tyre tread over the tubes to either side of the console, providing grip and protecting the tube’s fabric while boarding or jumping off.
It wouldn’t be a Pirelli-badged boat without a few options, and for this one, the list is pretty comprehensive. There are waterproof storage bags that clip onto the outer wall of the tube, document holders that clip onto the console, and even a wakeboard rack.

The forward section of the boat includes a space for storing tools, with the floor giving another nod to the tender’s namesake and featuring a tread pattern based on the tread design of its Cinturato tyres. Even the tender’s name reflects Pirelli’s performance tyre range – the 17-inch tubes are the same diameter as an R17 road wheel.
The backrest on the aft seat can also move forward to create a large sunbed, with low rails on either side providing a low fence.
The sports steering wheel is removable to help keep the profile as low as possible.
Powering this version of the Pirelli is a 90hp Rotax ACE 903 petrol engine that is also used for the Sea-Doo range of jet skis.
